Frequently Asked Questions
Is food provided throughout the day?
A light snack will be provided around 10am of a selection of fresh fruit alongside a savoury option (e.g savoury crackers, rice cakes, brioche roll, malt loaf). Children will also be asked to bring in a packed lunch if they are staying past 12pm. We do ask that this consists of healthy food options for your child as we aim to promote healthy eating (e.g no chocolate, biscuits, sweets etc). We also ask that food provided does not contain any nuts in line with our setting’s allergy policy.
Do the children go outside or leave the premises?
Yes, we benefit from having our own private garden. In addition to this green space, we nurture a culture of exploration by taking the children on daily walks within our local village. These walks not only allow the children to discover their surroundings but also help them develop essential skills such as understanding road safety, their environment and their community.
What is the procedure if someone else was to pick up?
We require the primary caregiver to share a password with us, which will be verified during pick-up by the authorized person. Additionally, we kindly request a physical description or a photo of the authorized individual to assist our staff in identification. Consistent with our safeguarding procedures, it is crucial for the primary caregiver to inform both the office and the classroom staff in advance of a change in collection. They will be required to complete a collection form; otherwise, we cannot release the child to them.
What do I need to send with my child?
Named wellies, a named water bottle, nappies (if required) and spare clothes. In summer we ask that you send children with a sun hat and sun-cream (both named).
How frequently is the nursery cleaned?
The nursery is regularly cleaned by our dedicated cleaner, who diligently works every evening, as well as on Saturdays for a comprehensive cleaning session. As well as this, equipment and resources are regularly cleaned and sanitised by staff using a rota system to ensure everything is maintained to the highest standard. Upholding high standards of hygiene is paramount in all our activities and is seamlessly woven into our planned educational programs.
